Potter: I hope Mendi returns essentially against Chelsea

The Senegalese goalkeeper Edward Mindy, who will reclaim his spot in the team’s starting lineup for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb, was lauded for his professionalism by Chelsea coach Graham Potter.
When Potter took over the team from Brighton, Mindy departed from the fundamental lineup of Chelsea in favour of Spanish goalie Kiba Arizabalaga. However, he was injured at the time.

Prior to suffering an injury during Chelsea’s 1-4 loss to Brighton last Saturday, Kiba, who was brought in to fill in for Mindy, took part in every game Chelsea played under Potter’s direction.
In a news conference on Tuesday, Potter said: “I had a few excellent conversations with him, and he was amazing. He was injured when I first attended, so Kiba participated and did well.”
He continued: He is honest enough to realise that he needs to be patient and stand by Kiba.

He has upheld his principles, and this is his chance to seize it.
When asked if it would be challenging for him to select Chelsea’s primary protector if Mindy displayed creativity in front of Dinamo Zagreb, Potter responded, “We hope so, we want as many difficult decisions as possible that are just useful.”

Potter: I’m hoping Mendi will play against Chelsea.
