More than 15,000 volunteers in the ranks of the Russian army since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine

Since the start of the Russian military action in Ukraine, more than 15,000 people have registered themselves in volunteer groups inside the ranks of the Russian army, according to an announcement from the Russian General Staff.

Alexander Tolgonov, the head of the second directorate of the Organization and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said this while the law that would grant volunteers who participated in the private military operation the status of old warriors was being discussed.

According to the “Russia Today” news website, Toligonov added that the discussion is about the volunteers who deployed to the front as a result of the partial mobilisation and those who voluntarily applied to the military registration and recruitment offices and joined the volunteers’ detachments, such as the Chechen forces “Ahmed.”

Since the start of the military campaign in Ukraine, the Russian army has more nearly 15,000 volunteers.
