‘Freedom Convoy’ leader Pat King to testify at Emergencies Act inquiry

At a federal investigation into the weeks-long protests last winter, more significant “Freedom Convoy” participants, including prominent organiser Pat King, are set to give testimony.
After King released a video inciting violence against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, other participants expressed concern about his involvement, according to testimony presented to the Public Order Emergency Commission on Tuesday.

King was granted bail in July and was later charged with perjury, obstruction of justice, damage, and intimidation for his participation in the protest.
Keith Wilson, the main lawyer representing the convoy, is also scheduled to testify today at the inquiry, which is investigating the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act to clear protesters from Ottawa streets in February.

Tom Marazzo, an ex-serviceman who joined the convoy once it reached Ottawa in order to help with logistics, will also make a statement.
Other organizers told the inquiry Tuesday that the demonstration had no leader and there were power struggles among them..

Leader of the “Freedom Convoy,” Pat King, will testify at the Emergencies Act hearing.
