Egypt’s magicians .. Learn about the full poetic works of Fouad Haddad

The great poet Fouad Haddad passed away on November 1, 1985, and today marks the anniversary of his passing. He was born in Cairo’s Al-Zahir neighbourhood in 1928, attended the Al-Furir School, then the French La Ligant School, and from a young age had a strong desire to understand and see the poetic heritage his father discovered in a library as well as French literature as a result of his studies of the French language.

According to Fouad Haddad’s biography, he was detained in 1953 for political reasons. After being released from prison in 1956, he published his first book, “Ahrar behind bars,” and then went on to write his distinctive poems in colloquial poetry. In 1959, he was detained once more for a five-year period.

It is famous to Fouad Haddad that he wrote “Al -Masharati” by Sayyid Mekawi in 1964 and wrote to him the radio program “from the light of imagination and made generations” 30 episodes in 1969, which was the song “The Earth Speaking Arabic” is a piece of it.
