America imposes sanctions on a network to arm the youth and ISIS in Somalia

Two days after the youth organisation took credit for a blast that left at least a hundred people dead in Mogadishu, the US Treasury said on Tuesday that sanctions would be placed on ISIS’s Somalian arms suppliers and the youth group.
Eight people and one company who are connected to a multimillion dollar weaponry network that operates between Iran, Yemen, and the African century were listed by the Treasury on its black list.

America accuses people and businesses of participating in the bloodshed in Somalia that was carried out by ISIS and youth organisations with their assistance.
The Treasury stated that “individuals and the target entity today are key players in the weapon smuggling network intimately tied to ISIS in Somalia.”
The statement added that “these networks work mainly between Yemen and Somalia and have strong relations with Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and the Youth Group.

” The Ministry of Treasury stated that it is parties partially stationed in Buntland at the eastern end of Somalia, where Abdul Rahman Muhammad Omar has entered into arms deals with more than two million dollars over the past four years.
Omar “participated in facilitating the arrival of weapons for ISIS in Somalia and the youth organisation since at least the beginning of 2017,” according to the Ministry of Treasury.
