A breakthrough in the Russian banking card crisis “Mir” in Turkey

Turkish hotels are reportedly implementing Russian payment systems that enable the acceptance of “Mir” bank cards in addition to “Visa” and “MasterCard” cards, according to the Russian newspaper “Ezvisteia.”
Five Turkish hotels are already accepting Russian credit cards, according to an article in the Russian daily that was published today, Tuesday.

Earlier, the “RPK Ka” economic website, quoting sources in the Russian banking sector, stated that two large Russian Benkan are studying the possibility of installing devices in the UAE and Turkey to accept Russian bank cards “Mir”.
According to the idea, gadgets will be deployed in large hotels and stores. As a result, Russian tourists won’t need to bring “currency” when visiting the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

Several Russian banks had issues using “Visa” and “MasterCard” due to the Western sanctions imposed against Moscow, therefore “Mir,” a Russian financial card that works with a national payment system, was introduced in 2015.
