Winnipeg man transforms front yard into terrifying display for Halloween

For another Halloween night, a man in Winnipeg will turn his front yard into a horrifying spectacle.
Since he was a youngster, David Pletz has been adding to his outdoor exhibition of eerie accessories.
“Back then, it was nothing more than Styrofoam and wax and crayons and doing what you can do sort of thing,” he said.
It contains everything from inflatables to animatronics, and it takes two days to set everything up and get it lit.

We simply keep adding to the pile every year, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to set up and even more difficult to try to store.
The first animatronic Pletz created was a wax dummy and a casket that would cry whenever children stepped on it.
The majority of the decorations today are, however, store-bought. Pletz and his daughter Amy shop for decorations every year, occasionally splurging on large items like their new 12-foot skeleton.

They sold out, and when we saw it again this year, we simply exchanged glances and agreed. So we did,” stated Pletz.
He instilled his daughter with his lifelong enthusiasm for spooky things.
“When I was a young child, I adored watching movies. I adored scary films. I like the gore, blood, and guts,” Pletz remarked.
“In a way, Halloween is like our Christmas. We then go all out in an effort to frighten some young people.

Pletz offers something for the parents taking their kids trick-or-treating in addition to the eerie exhibits.
Every year, we also like to display a movie in the window. We also set up a speaker and some lawn chairs so that the parents who are strolling and the kids may pause and perhaps take a short break with their feet up.
There are numerous homes in the city that will be decked out for Halloween, so Pletz and his family aren’t the only ones who like the holiday.
