United Nations: Grain shipping ships will continue to sail from Ukraine ports across the Black Sea

The ships are anticipated to keep travelling through the Black Sea Corridor from Ukraine ports on Monday, according to the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul, despite the recent cancellation of a deal on grain shipments from Ukraine.
The United Nations, Turkey, and Ukrainian representatives all agreed on a similar strategy, the centre said in a statement.

On Monday, 12 ships are expected to begin moving in the direction of Istanbul across the corridor, while four ships will proceed in the opposite direction in a manoeuvre coordinated with the Russian delegation.
According to the statement, there are already 21 cargo ships taking part in the project that are docked in or close to Ukrainian ports and are carrying a combined 700,000 tonnes of grains.

As a result of its fleet being exposed to “terrorist attacks” in the port of Sevastopol on the Black Sea, Russia on Saturday terminated the deal to transfer Ukrainian grains from the Black Sea Ports “indefinitely.”
Turkey and the UN came to an agreement in July of last year that put an end to a month-long blockade on Ukrainian food shipments caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Due to the Western sanctions slowing down Moscow’s supplies of food and fertiliser, Moscow has recently questioned the accord.
