UNCTAD: Wheat futures rose 6 % against the backdrop of Russia’s suspension of its participation in the grain deal

Rebecca Greensban, the director of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, claimed that the sanctions continue to have an impact on Russian exports of food and fertiliser.
Greenspan said in a meeting on the grain deal and announced the high cost of wheat futures on Monday by 6 percent, against the backdrop of the situation with Russia’s suspension of its participation in the grain deal.

According to Greenspan, “The uncertainty regarding the Black Sea initiative’s extension contributes to the fact that prices are up to rise again, and just today the prices of wheat wheat contracts increased by 6%.
Grain deals caused Russia’s wheat shipments to increase by three times between July and September.
“It is obvious how these accords will affect the world in a short amount of time. Russia’s wheat exports increased threefold between July and September “said Greenspan.

She noted that the sanctions system still affects the export of Russian fertilizers and food, and the cost of these services is very high.
