The world will not end today .. NASA publishes a message of reassurance to the globe

According to NASA, the recently discovered asteroid will pass by Earth today while travelling faster than 84,500 miles per hour.
According to Live Science, NASA verified that the asteroid (2022 RM4) will pass over the earth in 2022 at a distance equivalent to the world’s tallest building, which will be roughly 740 metres.
Tomorrow, November 1, the asteroid will be two miles away from Earth, when it will be closest. 6 times farther than the distance between the earth and the moon, or 3 million kilometres, from the surface.

This is a tiny margin by cosmic standards.
Any space object that is 193 million kilometres or closer from Earth is deemed to be a “body near to the Earth” by NASA, which also defines any massive object within 7 million kilometres of Earth as such. 5% of our world is considered to be in “potential risk.”
Astronomers constantly monitor these possible hazards once they are detected, using radar to look for any deviations from their predicted courses.

The end of the planet is not imminent. NASA publishes a message of reassurance to the globe
