The African Union shows its “great concern” regarding the security situation in the eastern Democratic Congo

The African Union underlined its grave concern on Sunday on the worsening security situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s east, where the rebels have recently made headway in the field.
The Federation’s Periodic President and Chairman of the Union Commission, Musa Faki Mohamed, issued a joint statement in which they both made a request.

The African Union for Peace, Security and Cooperation for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the region, as well as the peace discussion between the Congolese, which is facilitated by the East African Group, are two current mechanisms that the two men invited all parties to participate in.


Sal and Fakhi Muhammad asked in regards to this “All parties should take part in good faith in the third Congolese peace discussion, which will be place from November 4 to November 13, 2022. ”
The African Union, meanwhile, voiced its “I wholeheartedly agree with the road plan Luanda has established to normalise political ties between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda are two kinship nations, thus the Union urged the Congolese President “Joao Lawrenceau to continue its mission as an easy method for the constructive interaction between the two.”

Regarding the security situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, the African Union expresses its “deep worry.”
