Russia: We are ready to export tons of grain for free to the needy countries

News from Al-Madinah: After making comments regarding the progress of the shipment of grain from Ukraine over the past two days, Russia confirmed today, Tuesday, that it is willing to assist “need countries” despite the barrage of criticism from several Western nations.
Mikhail Olianov, Russia’s permanent representative in Vienna, stated that his nation was prepared to provide 500,000 tonnes of cereals.
Additionally, he emphasised in a tweet on his Twitter account that these grain quantities would be given away to developing nations in need.

difficulty with food security
Since the beginning of the Russian military operation on Ukrainian territory on February 24, the West has criticised Moscow for suspending this agreement, accusing it of having a problem with food security globally, particularly for African countries and other developing countries, who have been severely impacted in terms of importing grains, especially wheat, and its high prices globally.

It is notable that Russia decided to halt the initiative after announcing on Sunday that the misfortunes that assaulted its ship last Saturday had been discovered in Sevastopolbab on the island of Crimea, stressing that they had used the safe path designated for exporting wheat. It’s possible that one of these revelations was launched from a civil ship that was chartered as part of the Black Sea effort.

On Monday, this charge was brought up once more before the Security Council.
While Russian President Vladimir Putin Kyiv called for the safety of ships that cross the grain export corridor, considering that it poses a “threat to the security of the city’s ships.

“Moscow cautions
Although Moscow warned of the “risk” of continuing to implement the deal without its participation, ship movement was resumed in the Black Sea yesterday with the assistance of the United Nations and Turkey.

It is noteworthy that the initiative to export grains from Ukraine across the Black Sea, controlled by Russian ships, was completed last July under Turkish and international supervision. This initiative was undertaken in response to concerns about food security, particularly in some developing countries that heavily rely on grain imports.
