Lufthansa changes parts of the outer layer of its plane, A380

The German Lufthansa Air group’s spokesman, Michael Lamberts, stated on Monday that before restarting its enormous Airbus A380, the group will need to exchange out various outside components.
Lambarti explained that this step comes due to damage to the cold that occurred in the outer layer of the planes while storing it in the Terwell aircraft parking, Spain, noting that it is expected to complete the switching work in Frankfurt.

The business recently began making technical preparations in order to restart four to five of these out-of-service aircraft by the summer of 2023.

The Airbus A380 was removed from the fleet of the group before the Korona pandemic for financial reasons; there were 14 of these aircraft, of which the manufacturer Airbus retrieved six aircraft. As a result, the maximum number of super jumbo planes that Vahhanza may restart is eight aircraft.

The number of aircraft that will need to have damaged exterior layers replaced has not been disclosed by Lufthansa, nor have the expenses associated with restarting these aircraft, each of which requires countless man hours.
Early in December, nine-year-old planes are anticipated to fly from Spain to Frankfurt.

The aircraft were placed in storage at Terwell on May 5th, 2020. Following basic maintenance, including fixing the exterior, the aircraft will receive longer-distance maintenance from Manila’s “Lufthansa Cink” maintenance facility.
