Instagram working on issue that locked users out of accounts

(AP) NEW YORK — Instagram announced that it was addressing a problem that appeared to have shut out a sizable number of users early on Monday.
Even after they were locked out, some users said they could still navigate through their feeds. Others who tweeted about it claimed to have been totally cut off. Some said that their following decreased as a result of the accounts being locked, which makes sense.

It wasn’t clear if the issue was internal or if the social media platform had been hacked. The startup, which is owned by Facebook parent Meta, did not respond to an email right away.
