Instagram is investigating the issue that stopped thousands of users from accessing the photo-sharing website since several of them reported that their accounts were hanging.
“We are aware that some of you are having difficulty accessing your Instagram accounts. We consider this and are sorry for the disruption “stated Instagram on its Twitter account on Monday. Instagram is a Mita Platform property.
A spokesperson for Instagram declined to comment on the topic of suspending accounts.
Twitter users reported that Instagram requested their email and phone number in order to retrieve their suspended accounts.
According to the Downt Doctor website, which analyses interruptions, about 3,000 people were impacted previously, but it’s possible that many more users were impacted by this disruption.
The price of Meta shares decreased by around 5% as a result of widespread stock market selling.
Instagram plans to stop offering its service by suspending thousands of accounts.
