Oleg Tinkov, a millionaire Russian banker who had previously condemned the prior Russian invasion, declared that he was giving up his Russian citizenship due to the current conflict in Ukraine.
Tenkov declared, “I decided to give up my Russian identity.
“I hope that more prominent Russian businessmen will follow Hudhawi, because this weakens the regime of President Vladimir Putin and his economy and in the end,” he added.
Tenkov shared a photo of a declaration attesting to his “end” of Russian nationality.
One of the most well-known Russian billionaires and the founder of Tenkov Bank penned the statement, “I loathe Russia Putin, but I love all the Russians who obviously reject this foolish war.”
The bank, which works online, is one of the largest lending institutions in Russia after the two government giants “Spearbank” and “TB”, and has more than 20 million customers.
Tenkov has slammed the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a “crazy war” and urged the West to put an end to this “massacre.”
British sanctions were established shortly after the war started in late February and targeted Tenkov.
He was also arrested in London in 2020 for tax evasion in the United States, before being released later on bail. It was also treated in London from leukemia.
In 2020, Tenkov gave notice of his resignation as CEO of “Tenk of,” and Tenkov Bank likewise distanced itself from its founder’s criticism of Putin.
