Haftar threatens: We will fight a decisive battle for the liberation of Libya

General Khalifa Haftar, the leader of the Libyan army, declared on Monday that “restoring the state” was reaching what he called the ultimate decision, citing the Libyan “Al-Masar” TV.
In the event that nonviolent measures to drive out foreign soldiers fall short, Haftar has pledged to wage a bloody battle to liberate the nation.
He said that the experiences have proven that “any comprehensive solution or an initiative will not succeed except by the approval of the Libyan people.

” Haftar added: “Today we are approaching the decisive decision with a pure popular will to determine the path towards restoring the state. We shall proceed in accordance with the wishes of the Libyan people because all prior avenues led nowhere and produced underwhelming outcomes.

“The General Command of the Army urges the Libyan people to uphold their right to self-determination and not to rely on outside agendas,” he said, accusing unnamed parties of trying to “manage the crisis without resolving it with the aim of prolonging their life with false pretences and suspicious initiatives.

Haftar emphasised the need to remove foreign troops from the nation, expressing concern that “if peaceful efforts fail to do so, we will fight a decisive battle to liberate the nation.
The commander of the National Army considered that the Libyan scene is different from what it was before, pointing out that “he witnesses a popular movement that grows to bring about the radical change,” according to the “Al -Masar” channel.

The recent agreement between the interim national unity government led by Abdel Hamid Al-Duba and Turkey in the field of oil and gas exploration in the Mediterranean, which grants Ankara many privileges in the energy sector, and has been opposed by several forces Regional and local, including Egypt and the leadership of the Libyan a have widened and the tensions between the conflicting political forces in Libya have increased.

In the days following a military parade of the Libyan army forces in the city of Sebha in the south of the country in front of General Haftar, the Dubai government recently supported all security centres in the western and central region, and its forces conducted manoeuvres to increase their readiness and enhance their preparations.

We’ll engage in a decisive battle to free Libya, Haftar says.
