The Revolutionary Guards agents detained the body of the 45-year-old journalist when she was returned to Iran, according to “Radio Individual,” citing his relatives. This was done to prevent his burial in his hometown of Shiraz.
“We are disgusting that we know that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has detained the remains of Reda at the airport and presses his family to agree to bury him elsewhere,” US State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.

He called on the Iranian authorities to release the body “immediately” and return it to the family, noting that what happened in Iran reveals the extent of the intimidation that the press is exposed to.
“The way you handled Reza, Ajad, shows the regime in Iran still fears journalists even after they have died,” he remarked.

The incident comes at a time when the authorities in Iran are carrying out a security campaign against the demonstrators who came out across the country after the death of Misha, in September, after it was arrested by the well -known ethical police..

Iran is being held hostage for the release of a body, according to Washington.
