As the M23 rebellion continues to strike in the East, the United Nations Peace Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Monusco) has declared that it has “increased the level of its forces’ alert” in order to support the army.
The UN force noted that the army receives “air support, information, and equipment,” and stated that it “strongly condemns the hostilities carried out by the March 23 movement and its hazardous implications for the civilian population.”
