Muhammad al-Mennafi, the president of the Libyan Presidential Council, underlined the Council’s dedication to the democratic route, which includes the consolidation of independent institutions and the staging of elections.
This came during his reception, today, Saturday, in the capital, Tripoli, the special envoy of the French President to Libya, Paul Soller, to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya, according to a statement of the media office of the council, reported by the Libyan News Agency (WAL).
Al-Munafi hailed the excellent Libyan-French relations and the efforts the French Republic is making to bring about stability in Libya during the meeting.
The French envoy, for his part, indicated that France will contribute positively to the stability of Libya and to a political solution that entails holding concurrent parliamentary and presidential elections on the basis of an amicable constitutional framework.
The “Libyan President” reiterates his emphasis on the council’s dedication to the nation’s democratic course.
