In an effort to draw attention to their cause of the harm that climate change would inflict to the earth in the future, a number of climate activists severely degrade works of plastic art.
The most recent destruction and assaults were caused by the crowding of the picture by Johannes Vermeer depicting the girl wearing pearl earrings as another activist poured soup and then pushed his palm on the wall close to the artwork.

The seventeenth-century oil painting The Girl with Pearl Earring was created by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. A girl’s face wearing a scarf and a pearl necklace can be seen in this painting.
Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer was born in the Dutch town of Delvet and worked during the Baroque era. It is regarded as one of Europe’s most significant 17th-century artists. He was an expert in depicting the interiors of middle-class homes.

It was evident that Johannes, a local painter who has had some success, was not wealthy. Vermeer used expensive pigments frequently and worked slowly and fascinatingly. Famous in particular for his distinctive handling and use of light in his works
The painting is the most recent object that climate activists have targeted. It is currently hanging in the Mauritchois Museum in The Hague, Netherlands.

Earlier this month, activists threw tomato soup in the sunflower to Vincent Van Gogh at the UK National Exhibition, and a few days later, activists threw mashed potatoes at the Claude Monet Museum at a museum in Germany, according to Art News.
In late June, additional active organisations in Germany and Italy joined the protests against climate change by applying glue or throwing liquids upon artworks.

“How do you feel when you see something beautiful and important that appears to be destroyed in front of your eyes?” protesters yelled. According to the Guardian newspaper, one of the protesters in The Hague reportedly asked. “Are you feeling irate? Good. When you witness the planet being destroyed, where is this feeling? There is no information yet about whether the painting has been damaged or not.

However, none of the protests’ intended targets have yet been impacted; activists didn’t report the destruction.
