The funeral service for the revered author Bahaa Taher, who passed away last Thursday night at the age of 87, will be place at the Omar Makram Mosque in Tahrir Square on Monday night following the Maghrib prayer.
The daughter of the famous author, Yusr Bahaa Taher, wrote on her personal Facebook page: “The comfort of my darling father on Monday, October 31, 2022 at the Omar Makram Mosque after the Maghrib prayer.”

Nevin Al-Kilani presided over the Mashari as the owner of the Sunset Oasis’ body was carried to the police mosque in Sheikh Zayed for his funeral. A number of intellectuals and artists also attended the burial of the family graves on the oases road.

Bahaa Taher was born in Giza Governorate on January 13, 1935, he worked as a translator in the State Information Service between 1956 and 1957, and worked as a drama director and a broadcaster on the second program radio that was one of his founders until 1975 where he was prevented from writing. He left Egypt and went in Africa and Asia, where he worked as a translator, after being prevented from writing.

He lived in Geneva between 1981 and 1995, where he worked as a translator at the United Nations, then he returned to Egypt, where he lives until now.

The Omar Makram Mosque served as the great author Bahaa Taher’s place of solace on Monday.
