Today, Sunday, South Korean President Yoon Sok Yol declared a national day of mourning, expressed his sympathies to the victims, and wished the injured a swift recovery.
In a statement, he added, “This is truly unfortunate. It’s a tragedy and a calamity that should have happened in the heart of Seoul last night.
Emergency personnel reported that a sizable crowd had flocked to an alley on Saturday night to celebrate Halloween in the renowned Entan area.
The possibility of more deaths was also mentioned.
These were the first Halloween celebrations in three years, following the country’s raising of the Corona virus and social space restrictions. A large number of partygoers donned masks and attire in honour of Halloween.
