Three central characters make up the majority of the work, and the textual thresholds at the beginning of each chapter of the novel were taken from the papyri (the book of the dead), which were translated into Arabic to go from the night to the day in accordance with their belief that the night stood for death and the day for the afterlife’s rebirth and eternal life.

The events take place in three (virtual) villages: (isolated – and boats) in the desert, where the harsh life and isolation, the spread of myths, the unknown fear, wolves, ghosts, and the lack of civil life.
In terms of the cemeteries that connect the three villages, the third (Al-Shalamiya) is a Sahlia village where the Nile’s water and fertile land are the first village.

Despite the anguish of loss and hardship, which dominates the three in accordance with their beliefs, the novel’s premise is about the philosophy of autism with the self and its exaltation.
The night was a kingdom for all the heroes of the novel, the love of the night and the trinity of the three of them, is what brings them together, but destiny did not give them an opportunity to get to know, just gave them a passing meeting in the graves, and at the end of the novel.

In addition to touching on historical and legendary events the region went through, and the idea of ​​reincarnation by talking about Mrs. (Umm City), the priest of the City I, who returned to life in the body of a British girl, and came to live next to the temple, and she died and buried next to him, again (this is a real incident ).
It is significant that Abdel-Alim Haris, an Egyptian author and journalist, had four poetry collections as well as Kom Al-Khadem published.
