Pakistan Prime Minister expects relations with China during his visit to Beijing this week

During his next visit, which will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif hopes to develop trade ties with China while also deepening strategic ties.

“It is pleased to know that he is one of the first world leaders who They visit China after the conclusion of the twentieth National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Beijing, which shows and reflects the depth of our friendship, the strength of our understanding,” Sherif said in an interview with the Chinese CTN network. He expressed his hope that the visit will further consolidate our strategic relations and strengthen business and trade with China.

He reaffirmed his desire to hold discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the State Council Lee Ke Cheong, and other members of the Chinese leadership in order to advance cooperation in a number of areas.

Regarding the assistance of China to those affected by the floods in Pakistan, the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the leadership, the people and the Chinese companies that have contributed generously, adding: “China has provided food, medicines and many other substances to those affected by the floods. ”
He hailed China’s quick progress in the spheres of economic, social, and cultural development, saying that China supports globalisation.

He also stated that it wanted to mimic the Chinese model of economic growth.

Regarding the Chinese-Pakistani economic corridor, which has entered a second-quality stage, Shahbaz Sharif stated, “The pioneering project for the Belt and Road Initiative has transformed the energy and infrastructure sector in the country.” He went on to explain that the road network that was established throughout Pakistan within the framework of the economic corridor has shortened the time of travel for citizens and made it easier for them to get from one place to another, noting that it will improve connectivity between the two countries.

Notably, the Pakistani Prime Minister’s trip to China this week marks his first to the nation’s neighbour since taking office in April.
