News from Al-Madinah: Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, today highlighted Moscow’s alarm about Warsaw’s intention to plant US nuclear weapons on Polish territory.
“Poland expresses interest in being considered as a potential host country for American nuclear weapons. In an interview for the film “The World on the Edge,” Lavrov said, “This situation is really concerning. Lessons from the Caribbean crisis” that was shown on Sunday to the first Russian channel.
The Russian Foreign Minister continued by saying that a new generation of Western politicians is making reckless attempts to “manipulate” the nuclear weapons debate.
It should be emphasised that Poland recently stated its interest in having American nuclear weapons deployed on its territory, even though it is not currently in negotiations to do so.
Earlier, Polish President André Doda said that Poland is open to the deployment of US nuclear weapons on its territory.
