Under the sponsorship of Mustafa Hamdi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Modern Arab Publishing Foundation, the Modern Arab Foundation published an Egyptian pocket novel for its inaugural session.
Mustafa Hamdi said that the competition comes from the reality of the institution’s interest in youth and to discover talents and support them strongly.
Nawal Mustafa, the Foundation’s cultural advisor, responded by stating that the organisation has begun its first competition in five categories—the novel, the short story, the comic book, the children’s literature, the scene, and the dialogue.
Additionally, according to the competition’s rules, writers from all Arab nations are eligible to enter.
The participant may enter more than one category if they choose, but they must only enter one work per category.
Regarding the age range, I made it clear that there was no upper or lower age limit necessary, as long as the material had not already been published using any of the paper-based or electronic publishing techniques.
“Mustafa” said that from November 1 through December 31, 2022, the door is open for advancement.
The results are announced on the World Book Day, April 23 of 2023.
The first place in each group will receive 25,000 Egyptian pounds, second place will receive 15,000 Egyptian pounds, and third place will receive 10,000 Egyptian pounds. The winning works will also be published and added to the Modern Arab Foundation’s publication map. The Foundation stated that more information about the scenario competition’s terms will be released in the future.
