Washington, D.C. According to a person briefed on the inquiry, the man suspected of assaulting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband had zip ties with him when he broke into the couple’s San Francisco home. This incident is the most recent parallel to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.
The individual talked to The Associated Press on Sunday under the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to publicly discuss the Pelosi case.

Less than two weeks before the Nov. 8 election, which will determine which party controls Congress, an attack on the Democratic leader’s 82-year-old husband, Paul Pelosi, served as a startling reminder of the nation’s toxic political climate.

The 42-year-old suspect, who was identified by police as David DePape, allegedly confronted Paul Pelosi early on Friday and reportedly demanded to know where Nancy was.
Officers responding to a 911 call to the residence saw DePape strike Paul Pelosi at least once before the two men engaged in a scuffle over a hammer, according to police. DePape was detained on charges of burglary, elder abuse, and attempted murder. He is expected to be arraigned early in the coming week.

The Paul Pelosi attack has eerie shades of the incident on January 6.
Where is Nancy, yelled the rioters who flooded the Capitol in an effort to have Joe Biden’s election victory against Donald Trump overturned. Some of the siege participants were spotted inside the Capitol using zip ties.
The violent attack on a congressional leader’s family comes as threats to lawmakers and other political officials are at all-time highs today.

Nancy Pelosi was in Washington at the time of the attack on his husband. She soon made her way back to San Francisco, where her husband was ill. His office reported that he underwent surgery for a skull fracture as well as additional injuries to his hands and limbs.
“Our children, our grandchildren and I are heartbroken and traumatized by the life-threatening attack on our Pop,” she said in a letter late Saturday to colleagues.

“We are grateful for the quick response of law enforcement and emergency services, and for the life-saving medical care he is receiving. ”
She informed coworkers that Paul Pelosi is still in the hospital and “continues to improve.”
