The implementation of the water transport system project at the third unit pumping station in the UAE, specifically in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, was awarded to the Egyptian Contracting Company, Mukhtar Ibrahim, which is connected to the Holding Company for Construction and Development, for a sum of about 1. 9 billion pounds.

According to a statement made by the Egyptian Ministry of Public Business Sector, the project work, which spans 54 km, includes water transport lines from the third unit station to the fourth and fifth unit stations, the development of 29 feeding points (mechanical control) and turning them into electronic control, 22 tunnels under roads, gas lines, and existing facilities, and supply and installation of a 172 km optical fibre cable.

Additionally, the project calls for the supply and installation of three new pumps, along with all of the necessary equipment to increase the station’s energy output by 48 million gallons per day, as well as the construction of 15 water hammer tanks, four chlorine pumping units, and a closed pumping circle between the three existing stations.

The project fits within the parameters of the work strategy and the ministry’s desire to broaden the scope of the work of its affiliates both domestically and internationally. The ministry is also keen to pay attention to opening new markets, expanding the field of real estate export, and implementing massive projects both internally and externally, in a way that contributes to providing hard currency and maximising companies’ returns.

It was emphasised by Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector, that the construction sector of the Ministry has enormous capabilities and accumulated experiences, which are being exploited and developed during the next stage within the framework of the state’s general policy to maximise the returns of assets. It is noteworthy that the company “Mukhtar Ibrahim” has implemented many water and sanitation projects in the United Arab Emirates, with a total value of

6-billion-pound figure.
