About 15,000 sci-fi fans expected to attend Hal-Con this weekend in Halifax

This past weekend, thousands of attendees of Hal-Con, billed as the largest science fiction event in Atlantic Canada, descended upon the Halifax Convention Center.
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the well-liked convention was postponed in 2020 and drastically scaled back in 2021. The event’s revival could not make its organisers happier.
Hal-Con, according to publicist Jarrod Peckham, “is the community for me.”

Whether it’s Star Trek or anime, he explained, “it’s the people you get to spend time with and who understand you on a level that maybe some people don’t for the interests and passions that you’re interested in.”
We merely want to foster that community and provide a welcoming, safe environment.
Peckham stated that on Saturday and Sunday, organisers anticipate 15,000 people entering the Halifax Convention Centre.

At Hal-Con, which has roughly 200 merchants, you can attend workshops, performances, and meet-and-greets with actors, authors, comic book creators, and cosplayers. People congregate there to discuss their shared passion for sci-fi, anime, and movies.
The convention website has a complete list of attendees.
The festival is open from Saturday night through Saturday night to Sunday evening. There aren’t many tickets left for those who want to go. Callum Smith’s files are included.

This weekend in Halifax, Hal-Con is projected to draw some 15,000 sci-fi lovers.
