40-storey tower proposed for downtown Kelowna

The developer wants to construct a 40-story tower in downtown Kelowna on four undeveloped properties.
A Kelowna real estate and property development company named Ridge North America is recommending the construction of two complexes, one on either side of Harvey Avenue.
The plan calls for a low-rise structure to go where the McDonald’s restaurant once stood, as well as a tower to go where the Husky gas station once stood and where Impark’s parking lot is now, on the opposite side of Harvey.

Plans call for 285 parking spaces in addition to residential and retail space for the 40-story tower. A total of 327 dwelling units, including 66 studio units, 105 one-bedroom units, 123 two-bedroom units, and 33 three-bedroom units, would be housed in the building.
For the low-rise building, the six-storey construction would have 70 rental units total comprised of 17 one-bedroom units, 27 two-bedroom units and 26 three-bedroom units.
Applications for variances and rezoning would need to be authorised by the city.

On the City of Kelowna website, the proposal is accessible.
