From Ahvaz (southwestern Iran) to Azerbaijan provinces (northwest of), Kurdistan, the anger of the demonstrators did not subside during the past hours. The demonstrations that began yesterday and went into Saturday night were an extension of those that began in the middle of last month in response to the killings of a young woman and a prince.
According to Iran International Network, footage showing Iranian security personnel entering Ahwaz University at night while wearing civilian clothing and kidnapping two students have surfaced.
This storm arrived while protests against the government were being held in various northwest American cities’ streets.
Demonstrators gathered in the evenings in the Azerbaijani province city of “Manuab” to protest the government and call for Iran’s liberation.
Bokan demonstrators blocked the movement of the security forces by blocking the streets with rocks and other debris.
The demonstrators in the city of Doroud in the governorate of Sinstistan also continued their protest in the streets, as well as security.
The situation did not differ in the city of Senndge, the center of the western Kurdistan governorate, where hundreds of the streets went to the streets at night, chanting “Death to the dictator”, referring to the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei.
A nighttime protest in the “Tharnis” neighbourhood of the capital, Tehran, was also witnessed, during which the demonstrators blocked certain highways and set tyres on fire.
It is noteworthy that protests have not subsided in the nation since the death of the Kurdish young woman, Muhsa Amini (22 years), on September 16, three days after her arrest by the Ethics Police while visiting Tehran with her younger brother, on the grounds that she had disobeyed the country’s strict dress codes.
Three years ago, the death of this woman in Iran sparked extraordinary rallies, with students, young people, and typically young men and women carrying a political message and challenging the government.
According to human rights organisations, the security forces deliberately used techniques of repression and brutality, including live ammunition, to crush the youth movement that had been active in several governorates. This resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people.
Mahmoud Amiri Model, the director of the Iranian Human Rights Organization, reported on Friday that at least 253 protesters, including 34 children, had died since the demonstrations started.
