Toronto’s dancing crossing guard gains popularity on social media

On social media, Toronto’s most well-liked crossing guard is attracting attention for her dancing and music.
For almost 20 years, Kathleen Byers, 73, has stood in as a crossing guard. She currently works at the intersection of Queen Street West and Shaw Street and she has gaining popularity on social media sites like TikTok.
She said she takes her responsibilities seriously and each morning she wakes up to prepare for the day.

Byers has previously attracted attention. Toronto police ordered her to cease dancing in 2013 due to safety concerns, but the neighbourhood stood up for the crossing guard.
Byers admitted that she doesn’t frequently use TikTok but that she does like watching other people enjoy her dance moves.
