In the 38th minute, Manchester United Anthony twice turned around when he was in possession of the ball in a display photo that some deemed “immature” and “condemned” the opposition.
This shot was made on Thursday night as the squad was playing Sherif Terpol Moldovi in the Yoruba League.
A few minutes later, the Brazilian Anthony was being coached by Eric Tin Hag between the two halves while the fans attacked him on sports and social media.
Anthony referred to Paul Scholes, the club’s legend, as a “clown” after he performed the display move during the game.
In contrast to Anthony, who justified himself by stating that he “will not stop the show shots because it was the one that brought him here,” the former Welsh player, Ruby Savge, called the photo “extremely shameful.”
Tin Hag emphasised that the movement would not care if it was used throughout the game and not just for the review.
Anthony, who is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best players, joined the “Red Devils” from Ajax Amsterdam last summer.
