On Friday, October 28, 2022, the price of the dollar in Lebanon increased relative to the lira on the unofficial (dark) parallel market.
At the close of business on Friday, October 28, 2022, the dollar’s value in Lebanon climbed in relation to the lira to reach between 37,400 and 37,500 thousand pounds for one dollar, up from 36,300 to 36,400 thousand pounds per dollar on Thursday.
In today’s ATM transactions, the value of the US dollar versus the Lebanese lira was 26,500 pounds for purchases and 26,100 pounds for sales.
A banking platform was used to settle the exchange rate of the dollar for 30 thousand and 100 Lebanese pounds against the Turkish lira.
Lebanese pounds can now be withdrawn from dollar deposits at a new rate of 8,000 pounds to the dollar, according to the Central Bank of Lebanon.
It is important to note that the Central Bank of Lebanon has issued two urgent general announcements, the first to lira holders who want to exchange their currency for dollars and the second to banks, which resulted in a significant drop in the price of the green currency, which fell from 37,000 to less than 30,000 Lebanese pounds.
