Talks between Tunisia and South Korea in the field of smart transportation

Rabie Al-Majidi, the Tunisian minister of transportation, and Sun Namkok, the South Korean ambassador to Tunisia, spoke about methods to strengthen their bilateral collaboration in the area of urban and intelligent transportation today, Friday.
The two parties discussed the potential for bilateral collaboration between the two countries in the areas of urban and smart transportation, in addition to a number of areas relating to rail transportation, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transportation.

The Tunisian minister reviewed the Ministry’s goals for urban transportation within the context of the country’s transportation and logistics strategy for the ensuing decade and beyond 2040, highlighting his desire to put into practise the national policy of urban transfers, which was introduced in April 2022 and aims to provide cities with a clean and secure transportation network.

The minister welcomed the opportunity to learn from Korean experiences in the field of smart transportation, such as the Korean experience, and he called for a collaborative work schedule that would include a timeline for monitoring the development of projects involving joint cooperation between Tunisia and South Korea.

The South Korean ambassador responded by expressing his nation’s desire to expand opportunities for collaboration with Tunisia in a number of areas related to the transportation industry and praising Tunisia’s propensity to advance the urban transportation system by relying on smart transport systems.

Tunisia and South Korea are in talks on developing smart transportation systems.
