The first of its kind book will be displayed for 10 days under the title “Coexistence in the Kurdistan Region” by roughly 30 publishing houses from the area and all of Iraq.
As for the goal of this cultural festival, according to its organisations, it aims to strengthen a culture of social harmony and cohabitation among the diverse spectrum in the area.
Hoker Majeed, a member of the committee in charge of the exhibit, stated: “We hold this exhibition in order to spread the culture of tolerance and coexistence, among all spectra of society in the Kurdistan region, by encouraging the younger generation to interact with the book in various languages. We will work during the next session to involve the role of The Assyrian Turkmen and Chaldean Publishing, in addition to the role of publishing from neighbouring countries.
We anticipate it to be a fruitful and worthwhile endeavour.
More than half a million books, in Kurdish, Arabic and English languages, in the fields of literature, science and religions, were accounted for by the attention of visitors.
