North Korea launches a “unspecified” ballistic missile

In its most recent missile launch, the South Korean army reported on Friday that North Korea had launched a “non-specific ballistic missile,” just as Seoul had warned that Kim Jong Un might be planning another nuclear test.
Seoul’s Joint Staff, referring to the Sea of Japan, stated Pyongyang “fired a ballistic missile that is not specified towards the East Sea” without providing any other information.

Following their summit, the representatives of the United States, Japan, and South Korea vowed to strengthen their regional deterrent. This missile launch follows that.
During this meeting, South Korean official, Zhou Hyun-Dong, said, “We agreed to increase the enhancement of cooperation so that North Korea immediately ends its illegal activities and resumes nuclear disarmament talks,” said South Korean official, Zhou Hyun-Dong.

“The three countries agreed that if Pyongyang executed its seventh nuclear experiment, there would need to be an unprecedented harsh response,” he continued.
After a string of ballistic missile launches in recent weeks, Seoul and Washington have frequently warned that North Korea may be preparing to perform another nuclear test for the first time since 2017.

Furthermore, US Secretary of State Wendy Sherman urged North Korea to “refrain from additional provocations” since “all these behaviours are mostly destructive and destabilising.”
