Michosin: The sanctions did not hinder the development of cooperation in the Association of Independent Countries and Russia remains an ally and a trusted partner

The Association of Independent Countries’ members are steadily increasing their collaboration and engagement, according to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Michosin, who noted that despite Western sanctions, Russia remains a dependable partner and ally.

Michosin added that the West’s desire to use protectionist measures and unilateral sanctions is related to the difficult times the world economy is currently experiencing in his speech at the beginning of the meeting of the heads of ministers of member states of the Association of Independent Countries.

The Russian Prime Minister emphasised the need to hasten the adoption of national currencies and phase out the dollar as a medium of exchange, pointing out that by using the dollar as a weapon, the West as a whole has damaged the reputation of its financial institutions.

The previous occurrences, according to Michosin, demonstrated that the Association of Independent Countries’ members need to concentrate on boosting their technological independence and skills.
The prime ministers are set to examine more than 10 issues on the agenda at the meeting of the heads of government of the independent association, which began on Friday morning in Astana (the capital of Kazakhstan).

Prior to the summit, the heads of state and government met with Qassem Gomart Tukayv, the president of Kazakhstan.
It is expected that the prime ministers will exchange views on the clock issues of economic cooperation in the Association of Independent Countries, discuss issues related to the free trade agreement in services, investments, and an agreement on the prevention of emergency situations and their response in the field of public health with an epidemic nature.

Mikhail Michosin is the head of Russia’s cabinet, followed by Al-Alakhhan Ismailov of Kazakhstan, Ali Asdov of Azerbaijan, Roman Golovshenko of Belarus, Akilbek Jabbarov of Kyrgyzstan, Kakhir Rasouda of Tajikistan, Abdullah Aribov of Uzbekistan, and Khujamore Gildimordov of Turkmenistan as deputy prime minister.
