Israel elections .. A fifth round in the Battle of Netanyahu to stay

Since 2019, when Netanyahu’s list of demands included accusations of corruption despite his denials, Israel has been caught in a never-ending cycle of elections. The people are hoping that this election would end the political stalemate between the most powerful politician of his generation and its rivals.
Will Netanyahu triumph?
Not certain. According to opinion polls, neither Prime Minister Yair Lapid nor Benjamin Netanyahu will take home a piece of the resounding triumph.

Despite consistently trailing in surveys, it is anticipated that Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party would secure the most seats in parliament. Netanyahu, 73, seems to be on the verge of a parliamentary majority guarantee that will raise him to power thanks to the support of the hard-line and rigid parties that support his occupation of the post of Prime Minister.

After the previous four elections, Netanyahu was unable to put together the right-wing coalition he desired.
Who else is competing in the race?
Why hold other elections?
In June 2021, Lapid and his coalition partner Naftali Bennett succeeded in overthrowing Netanyahu’s 12-year standard rule by bringing together a variety of right-wing, liberal, and Arab parties in a flimsy but effective coalition. The coalition lost its scant support less than a year after taking power as a result of the defections.

The coalition dissolved Parliament and held fresh elections rather than waiting for the opposition to unseat it.
Specifically on these elections?
Israel’s Netanyahu. Although his accusation of bribery, fraud, and the betrayal of the trust united his competitors against him, the rule loyal to him is still entrenched in his support, and demands the return of a leader who is seen as strength, cunning and influence on the international scene.

His opponents despise the return of a guy he considers to be crooked and harsh, and they are concerned that he will influence Israeli justice so that he is brought to justice.
Netanyahu has consistently tried to improve his credentials in the fields of finance and security.

Security and diplomatic issues, however, have largely lost importance in light of the slim prospects for holding peace negotiations with the Palestinians soon and the stalling nuclear negotiations between major nations and Iran. The high cost of living is a big concern for Israelis, according to polls, but since there are no significant differences between the candidates’ platforms, it is unlikely that these concerns will influence voters’ decisions to support any particular party.

Israel holds elections. Continuing with the Battle of Netanyahu’s fifth round
