Iran stopped a Spanish fan on his way to the World Cup in Qatar

After receiving no news since the beginning of the month, a mother of a Spanish World Cup fan who had travelled to Qatar via Siri was informed that he had been detained in Iran.
The mother of Santiago Kuchidor stated in an interview with Spanish Tercy TV that “the Foreign Ministry verified to us that he is held in Iran and that his health condition is good.”

Without identifying the location of his incarceration or the possible allegations against him, she continued: The Spanish embassy to Iran is taking procedures to ask the Iranian authorities for permission to visit him.
When “Agence France Presse” went on to say more about it, the Spanish Foreign Ministry declined to comment.

Santiago Sanchez Kukhidor, a football enthusiast, travelled to Qatar in early January from the municipality of Al-Kala de Inarers, close to Madrid, in order to attend the FIFA World Cup, which begins on November 20.
Since the beginning of October, his family hasn’t received any of his news.
He said he was in a town in northern Iraq and was ready to enter Iran in his most recent post on October 1 on his account on the “Instagram” programme, where he posted updates about his voyage.

He then informed his parents by voicemail that he was travelling to Tehran first before making his way to Bandar Abbas port on the Strait of Hormuz to board a ship bound for Qatar.
Since the young Muhsa Amini, 22, passed away on September 16, three days after being detained by the Ethics Police in Tehran, Iran has been experiencing a protest movement.
