Foreign Minister: There is a review of national plans to reduce thermal emissions

In light of the fact that it would be the first Arab summit following a break caused by the Korona pandemic, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed excitement about the next conference in Algeria.
Shukri said – in a special interview with Al -Arabiya channel, that Egypt will put an initiative at the climate summit, which will be held in Sharm El -Sheikh, in order to face climate change, pointing out that there is a review of national plans in order to reduce thermal emissions.

Shukri stated that a trillion dollars are required to eliminate the emissions that destroy the environment, urging that the upcoming climate conference in Sharm El-Sheikh be spared the current political tensions due to the technical and generational character of the conference.

The foreign minister noted that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan will shortly travel to Cairo and noted that Egyptian-Saudi relations are strong and based on ongoing collaboration in a number of regional and global challenges.
In order to find a political solution to the situation, Shukri also addressed Yemeni concerns and urged the parties to the war to uphold the armistice.

Regarding the Libyan issue, the foreign minister demanded the United Nations and the organisations tasked with dealing with the genuine Libyan government to observe the Skhirat Agreement.
He stated: “I call on the countries benefiting from the Nile River to adhere to the agreement of the principles that regulate their conditions.” with reference to ties with Ethiopia regarding the Renaissance Dam.

The nation’s goals to cut thermal emissions are being reviewed, according to the foreign minister.
