Charges laid against dump truck driver after 2 killed in Markham crash

According to York Regional Police, the dump truck driver has been charged following a collision in Markham that claimed the lives of two persons.
Police were called to a complaint of an Acura and dump truck collision in the vicinity of Markham Road and Elson Street on the afternoon of October 12.
According to the police, three passengers were in the Acura at the time of the collision.
Both the driver, 21, and the passenger, 23, were declared dead at the scene, according to authorities.

A 53-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was injured critically and rushed to the hospital. She is still in critical condition, according to police.
The 43-year-old driver of the dump truck was unharmed in the collision and stayed on the site.
Vaughan resident Anthony Baglieri was charged with two charges of hazardous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily damage.
