According to “Russia Today,” the British Foreign Ministry said that starting on January 1, 2023, the government would forbid the purchase of Russian LNG.
As of January 1, 2023, Britain will cease all imports of Russian liquefied natural gas and will work with other nations to lessen their reliance on Russian gas, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
3.12 trillion cubic metres of Russian gas were imported by Britain last year, making up 4% of its total gas consumption.
From 2023, Britain no longer imported Russian natural gas.
