Vehicle seized in connection with Calgary hit-and-run that sent teen to hospital

Police in Calgary have confiscated a car they think was involved in a hit-and-run that injured a teen and sent him to the hospital.
On October 17, just after 7 p.m., a pedestrian aged 17 was crossing 16 Avenue N. W. at 46 Street N. W. with the crosswalk light turned on.
A light-colored SUV was said to have struck Brandon Taylor, who was then transferred in life-threatening condition to Alberta Children’s Hospital.

The car that struck him no longer had a passenger-side mirror, police told me, according to step-father Jason Poirier, who spoke to Global News on October 21.
Brandon was launched 10 feet into the air when it hit him square in the face, and the driver simply kept going.
Taylor’s status has subsequently been upgraded to stable, according to Calgary police.
In order to find and seize the SUV, pending warrants and additional inspection, CPS investigators were assisted by a witness and the Cochrane RCMP.

Anyone with information regarding this event is urged to contact the police at (403) 266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
