The Lebanese President confirms that he is about to sign a decree accepting the resignation of the government

The prime minister-designate Naguib Mikati, according to Lebanese President Michel Aoun, has no desire to create a new government. He added that he is set to sign a decree accepting the resignation of the current administration since it lacks confidence in its ability to lead.

This came up in a conversation with one of the Lebanese channels, where he thought the guardianship technique of formation was undesirable, especially in a country where the norms utilised during the authorship process should be followed.

On the file of demarcating the maritime borders with Israel, Aoun stressed that Lebanon obtained its rights and an increase, calling on every person to bear the responsibility of his words, and not to transfer everything he hears in the street, stressing that the southern square is now stable, and there will be no war or testimony The region is unstable.

Aoun clarified that the Syrian side is willing to negotiate the issue of delineating the maritime borders. He added that he does not understand why the international community is exerting pressure because the refugees have not returned to their country, noting that the return is possible and that some have started to return from Lebanon and that shelter centres have been set up for them in Syria.

Given that all of his issues with other people are a result of the constitution’s application, the Lebanese President emphasised that the constitution would not come down hard on him and accused him of switching to the presidential system.
He added that the next president will only come in consultation, explaining that the Speaker of the House of Representatives does not have the right to carry out a dialogue, but rather has the right to launch consultations between the groups.

It is important to note that President Aoun’s term ends on Monday (next Monday) without an election to replace him, despite the fact that the Lebanese constitution calls for the transfer of the President of the Republic’s powers to the Council of Ministers jointly. This raises significant controversy because the president’s authority to establish a closed government and carry out business is constitutional, and the Lebanese President rejects this solution out of concern for the country’s stability.

The Lebanese President is calling for the election of a new president to be sped up because neither it can be done before his term ends nor a new government led by Prime Minister-designate Naguib Mikati can be formed because of the differences between Aoun and Mikati, even though the latter was given the job last June.
