After confirming that it had discovered evidence in Ukrainian laboratories and following the military operation there, Moscow returned and reopened the investigation into the matter today, even though it has been 8 months since Russia’s initial accusation to the United States that it was funded by a biological weapons programme in Ukraine.
The UN Security Council was requested by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to open a global inquiry into Washington’s role in the development of biological weapons in Ukraine.
She stressed in a statement Thursday that Russia had no choice but to file a complaint to the President of the UN Security Council to request an international investigation into military biological activities for the United States on Ukrainian lands, explaining that it had attached the complaint to a draft resolution.
According to the release, she also said that the objective of study is to create a covert publication system for diseases’ lethal causes.
Moscow has previously accused the United States of similar behaviour. Russia has regularly accused the United States of funding a biological weapons programme since the military action in Ukraine started in late February, and similar claims have been made against UN Security Council meetings.
Additionally, it has previously accused the United States of 2018 of carrying out covert biological experiments in a Georgian laboratory, another former Soviet Republic that now wants Ukraine to join NATO and the EU.
While the country’s biological weapons production facilities allegedly existed, both the US and Ukraine disputed this.
It is significant that these developments took place at the same time that Russia continued to accuse Ukraine of producing a “dirty bomb” in front of the UN Security Council.
She said that she doubted the IAEA inspectors’ capacity to demonstrate the opposite.
While the West threatened Russia if it was used as a strategy to legitimise the escalation during the upcoming period, Kyiv categorically disputed the charges.
Weapons are being used in Ukraine, and Russia has complained to the United States.
