After the Central Bank of Egypt held an exceptional meeting yesterday and took a set of important decisions, the research returned by citizens for gasoline prices and petroleum products for fear of holding an exceptional meeting of the fuel pricing committee, and prices stabilized according to the last decision of the committee to install prices.
A tonne of fuel was sold for 5,000 pounds when used for purposes other than electricity and bakeries.
It’s interesting to note that the automatic pricing committee for petroleum products decided to set the price of selling gasoline products of its three types at 8. 00 pounds per litre for gasoline 80, 9. 25 pounds per litre for gasoline 92, 10. 75 pounds per litre for gasoline 95, and 7. 25 pounds per litre for diesel, as well as the price of selling a tonne of non-electricity and bakeries at 5000 pounds per tonne.
Notably, the Egyptian Central Bank announced yesterday, October 27, that the interest rate had been increased in accordance with the Monetary Policy Committee’s decision following a special meeting. The price of the return, lending for one night, and the main operation of the Central Bank were all increased by 200 basis points to 13.5%, 14.5%, and 13.75%, respectively.
After the interest rate was raised, today, October 28th, 2022, gasoline and diesel prices increased.
