Urgent warning from the United Nations on millions of refugees

According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, a significant lack of funding would expose millions to an impending calamity in the next years.
The lack of funding was forced the commission to reduce the level of vital aid it provides to refugees and other people forcibly displaced in a number of its operations around the world.

The Commission released a statement warning that “the next round of reductions in aid will be terrible for the needy” and stating that a financing of at least 700 million dollars was required by the end of the year.
According to the Commission, UNHCR has scaled back its fundamental programmes in order to deal with increasingly tight funding constraints that have also affected many other nations’ fundamental programmes.

To aid with the fight against the deadly disease, the UNHCR is working with nations like Uganda that are presently battling the Ebola outbreak.
Due to the Chadian fuel crisis, the water supply was interrupted.
For Lebanon, 70,000 refugee families are no longer receiving very weak groups, helping from UNHCR, which is a safety network for these families.

The lives and livelihoods of numerous people are at risk, so this is a serious and urgent situation, according to Dominic Hyde, director of the Commission’s Foreign Relations Department.
