UAE and Uzbekistan enhance cooperation in energy and hydrogen

Increasing joint cooperation in innovative projects related to hydrogen and clean and renewable energy, building capacity and exchanging knowledge and information, and implementing innovative and investment projects jointly in these crucial sectors are the subjects of an agreement signed by the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministries of Energy and Innovation Development in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed via visual communication technology by Sharif Al-Ulami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Energy and Petroleum Sector, Shahllo Tordikolova, Deputy Minister of Innovation Development, and Azim Khadjif, First Deputy Minister of Energy from the Uzbek side. It was done so as part of the two parties’ desire to explore more opportunities in various related fields in order to achieve various communicative goals.

Scientists emphasised the importance of this memo in advancing scientific and technological knowledge in the energy sector, particularly clean energy, as well as the support of shared interests through the exchange of pertinent technologies, know-how, information, and human resources in the fields of hydrogen, solar energy, and renewable energy. They also emphasised the importance of expanding cooperation in the area of investment projects.

“We always seek to continue our efforts to strengthen partnerships with various authorities related to the energy and climate work sector in various countries of the world, in the belief of us the importance of this approach in achieving our various goals of developing the efficiency of the energy sector, which contributes to supporting the state’s march toward achieving sustainable economic development, and its global leadership, leading to the achievement of the U.S.

In order to address carbon emissions, create new jobs in the field of modern technology, and promote innovation, he emphasised that the development of the energy sector, particularly clean and renewable energy, occupies the top spot on the list of national priorities. He also emphasised that the ministry, which is in charge of developing the energy sector, plays an important role in developing the renewable energy sector and lauded the memo’s contribution to this achievement.
